“My wife Lyra and I have the honor and privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to share the Gospel throughout Europe this summer, with the South Texas School of Ministry (New Life Church) partnering with Awakening Europe for the Million Month. This tennis tournament is our main event to raise money to cover flights, stays and traveling in Europe — through the entry fee, matcha bar, and giving beyond.

Tennis has been a huge part of my life, leading me to play for the great Islanders during the 2024/2025 season and to coach as an assistant for the 2025/2026 season.

How the Day Works

A full day of tennis, fellowship, and matcha — here's what to expect.

The breaks between rounds are built in on purpose — time to recover, refuel, and watch great tennis, with the final round in the cooler evening. Spectators are always welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the tournament?

Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the TAMUCC Tennis Complex in Corpus Christi. Specific arrival time will be sent in your confirmation email the week of the event.

How much does it cost to play?

$30 per player. After filling out the registration form, you'll be sent to our STSM mission giving page to complete payment. You're welcome to add any amount on top of the $30 — every gift is tax-deductible and goes directly to our mission trip.

Who can play?

Anyone ages 8 and up, at any level. We'll group players into flights by age and ability based on registration responses.

What's the format?

Singles only. Flights will be organized by level once registrations are in, so every player gets competitive matches at their skill level.

What should I bring?

Your own racquet, a water bottle, sunscreen, and athletic clothes. Bring a hat — it's a long day in the Texas sun.

Will food be provided?

No food is provided, but a matcha bar will be onsite all day. You're welcome to bring your own snacks or a packed lunch.

Can I bring spectators?

Absolutely — bring family and friends. The more cheering, the better.

How will I know my match time and bracket?

You'll get a follow-up email the week of the tournament with your division, bracket, and the time to arrive.

What if it rains?

We'll communicate by email and on our social channels. A rain date will be announced closer to the event.
